Joël Bonin | Associate vice-president, Quebec
A catalyst, not a substitute: Bringing together private, public and philanthropic capital to finance conservation at scale
Joël Bonin has been a champion of conservation for over 25 years. Throughout his career at NCC, he has significantly contributed to the protection of Quebec's biodiversity, by overseeing more than 300 conservation projects, including land acquisition with the partner investors Lyme Timber. With his background in biology, he is a passionate proponent for the importance of conservation. He is also a creative and skillful fundraiser, combining innovation with unique financing approaches to attract funding sources. Joël initiated the ecological corridors program with NCC's Quebec team to drive landscape-scale conservation in the province. Joël collaborates with volunteers from all backgrounds, from science to business to law.

Lanna Campbell | Atlantic program director
Intersections between private, government and Indigenous governance
Lanna Campbell is a strategic thinker, relationship-builder and nature enthusiast. As the Nature Conservancy of Canada’s (NCC’s) program director for Prince Edward Island, she is involved in many areas of NCC, from crafting conservation solutions via strategic partnerships, to being on the land (and water) with our partners.

Dawn Carr | National director of strategic conservation
Closing remarks of the congress
Dawn Carr integrates and expands land conservation partnerships into national and international climate and biodiversity dialogues. She volunteers with and provides expertise to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) through its Commissions and participates on the IUCN’s Canadian committee. Dawn is also a 2021 Canadians Parks Council recipient of the Individual Award of Excellence.

Catherine Grenier | President and CEO
Nature needs us to scale up. Are you ready?
Catherine Grenier has held executive positions with some of Canada’s foremost nature conservation organizations. Among her achievements, she led the process to create Canada’s first national urban park, in Toronto’s Rouge Valley. Catherine is a recipient of the 2016 Award of Excellence from the Canadian Parks Council and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012.

Lisa Mclaughlin | Vice-president, conservation policy and planning
Nature needs us to scale up. Are you ready?
Lisa McLaughlin ensures that NCC's land, acquisition and management activities are guided by strategic priorities. She is the lead liaison with many of NCC’s national and international partners, including government and not-for-profit organizations. A biologist and rural planner, Lisa serves as a steering committee member of the International Land Conservation Network and is a member of the World Commission on Protected Areas privately protected areas specialist group.

Workshop on Conservation Technology: New Tools for Efficient Monitoring and Reporting
Marie-Michèle Rousseau-Clair is responsible for ensuring that NCC's conservation directions are driven and informed by the best available science and knowledge systems and that NCC leverages conservation technology to optimize conservation outcomes.
