Fire information for BC conservation areas

Fire Hazard Sign

Fire Hazard Sign

With numerous wildfires burning across BC, the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) is taking every precaution to ensure the safety of the public, contractors and our staff who visit our conservation lands. This includes closing access to conservation areas in wildfire affected areas.

Wildfire control and protection is the responsibility of the B.C. Wildfire Service (BCWS), and NCC works closely with BCWS to monitor and manage any fire activity that occurs on NCC-held conservation lands.

NCC encourages everyone travelling around the province to please be vigilant with all ignition sources and respect any closures that may be imposed due to wildfires or fire danger.

For more information about how NCC manages for wildfire on our lands, please see Understanding and Managing Wildfire in British Columbia.

Access closures

Please note that access on all NCC properties is subject to change as fire behaviour and conditions evolve. Check this page frequently for up-to-date information.

The following conservation areas are currently closed to all public access due to wildfire hazards.
