After completing a bachelor's degree in environmental studies at the Université de Montréal, Carine Deland went on to do a master’s in biology. She joined the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) team in 2011, keen to be involved in an organization active in conservation across Canada. She has since worked on a wide range of projects and was appointed director of conservation for NCC in Quebec in 2019.
