Cary Hamel
Cary Hamel is the acting director of conservation for the Nature Conservancy of Canada's (NCC's) Manitoba Region, where he oversees NCC's land protection, stewardship and management activities. A forest and prairie ecologist by training, he has more than 15 years of experience conducting field surveys and research and integrating knowledge to guide on-the-ground conservation action. Cary and his family live on a very small farm near Kirkness, Manitoba.
