Daniel Brunton

A lifelong Ottawa Valley naturalist, Dan Brunton has conducted site assessments of hundreds of natural areas across southern Ontario and beyond as an independent ecological consultant. He first encountered the Gervais Property in this capacity. A co-founder of Ottawa Riverkeeper and past-President of The Ottawa Field-Naturalists Club, he has been deeply involved in a wide variety of conservation initiatives over the last 40 years, ranging from endangered species studies, to provincial parks protection, the establishment of municipal protected area systems, impact mitigation and initiatives to protect especially important natural areas such as the Alfred Bog, Britannia Conservation Area and key areas within the National Capital Greenbelt.
