Emily Brown
I have always been fascinated by the natural world and felt a strong desire to protect it. As a young girl I adopted tigers and orcas and wrote to charities such as the Born Free Foundation to express my gratitude for their work. My decision to study zoology in university was made at a young age, after learning that David Attenborough had also studied this subject and then confirming the meaning of the word "zoology" in the family Encyclopedia. Since then I have studied some less charismatic subjects, such as beetles, sheep and now aquatic invertebrates. My passion for nature and my love of the outdoors led me to move from the UK to Canada, and I hope to contribute to the conservation of Canada’s natural environment as much as I can.
