Gary A. Bouchard
Gary A. Bouchard, traditional name: Zhowno Biness (Thunderbird of the South), is from Pays Plat First Nation, traditional name: Pawgwasheeng (Shallow Water).
He is the GIS technician/traditional values/conservation biologist with his home community. He has over 15 years of GIS/tradtional values experience. Gary graduated from Humber College in media foundations and film & television production; he is also a graduate from the ALDP (Aboriginal Leadership Development Program) through Parks Canada and Yukon College.
He currently works, in part, for the Nature Conservancy of Canada monitoring many of the islands on Lake Superior. He also represents his community in negotiations with Parks Canada (the Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area) and Ontario Parks (the Slates and Archipelago Islands).
