Justin Johnson
Justin holds a MSc in Biological Sciences from the University of Alberta and a BSc Honors in Biological Sciences from the University of Windsor. His research background is primarily focused on bioacoustics and avian behaviour including song learning in Savannah sparrows, the influence of artificial light pollution on nocturnal flight calls, and breeding territory settlement behaviour of warblers in the western boreal forest. Justin now works as an Assistant, Conservation Biology in Midwestern Ontario where he helps implement a landscape scale phragmites control program, coordinates an intergovernmental collaborative investigating alvar succession, and works to protect species-at-risk through public education and on the ground stewardship.
