Sue Dumontel

Sue Dumontel had been an interpreter at the Old Man on His Back Prairie and Heritage Conservation Area (OMB) since 2006. A long-time resident of the area, Sue shared her wealth of knowledge of the surroundings and history of the interpretive centre — that is the heart of OMB — with visitors from around the world. Over the years Sue had been deeply involved and connected to the land through living on a farm/ranch for many years and learning from those who cultivated their land with native seeding in mind. Over the years she had become the resident expert and the local historian through her own research and observations, that included mapping of the area in the 80s and producing a history book of the Rural Municipality with several others in 1990. The journey has been continuing at the OMB ever since.
