Matt Gasner
Matt Gasner
Matt Gasner is the coordinator of conservation planning for the Nature Conservancy of Canada's (NCC's) Manitoba Region. His background is in ecology, evolution and population biology. Matt graduated with a BSc in biology from the St Cloud State University and an MSc in biology from Purdue University.
Matt has over a decade of field and teaching experience in both temperate and tropical settings. His MSc research focused on the potential impacts of climate change on cloud forest bird communities in Costa Rica. He also taught conservation biology and sustainability courses for undergraduate study-abroad students in Costa Rica. He has worked as a field technician in Manitoba, Indiana and Texas to assist surveys of various human impacts on bird communities.
In his free time, Matt enjoys keeping his family active and interested in the outdoors and is a frequent contributor to the citizen science campaign eBird.
