Shagbark Hickory

In Canada, shagbark hickory grows in Southern Ontario and along the St. Lawrence River into Quebec. Isolated stands of shagbark hickory have been found around Georgian Bay and Lake Huron.
It is believed that First Nations people planted this species in stands hundreds of years ago.
