Mather Lake Property

Size: 259 hectares (640 acres)
Location: 08-03-16-W2, in the RM of Lake Alma. The property is located 29 kilometres southeast of Radville and 150 kilometres southeast of Regina.
Directions: From Regina, take Highway 6 south and turn east at Ceylon onto Highway 377. Travel through Radville and turn south onto Highway 28. After 16 kilometres, turn east onto the grid road. The property is adjacent to the grid road, about 3 kilometres after the turn.

Significance: The Mather Lake Property includes 19 hectares (47 acres) of the slightly saline Mather Lake, as well as wetlands and native grassland. Within the rolling hills of the Missouri Coteau, this property provides a beautiful habitat for Sprague's pipit, prairie bluebell, prickly pear cactus, bobolink, common nighthawk and sharp-tailed grouse.
Possible Tasks: Adding to species list, documenting invasive species such as dame's rocket and leafy spurge, and monitoring for property changes and concerns.
