Join us for a complimentary, in-person learning session focused on tax efficient income and estate planning for NCC supporters in the Toronto area. The session will share practical strategies to help you support the causes you care about while meeting your personal financial goals.  Light refreshments will be served.

You will learn how:

  • to minimize (in some cases eliminate) taxes on your estate;
  • to avoid double taxation on certain retirement assets;
  • to paying upfront capital gains taxes when selling your investments;
  • to convert assets into income you can’t outlive and leave a lasting legacy and,
  • to make use of existing government incentives to save taxes and support the causes you care about.

Serena Hak
Serena Hak is a nationally recognized financial educator and philanthropic planning specialist who works with Canadian families on retirement, estate and tax‑reduction planning. She helps families make informed financial decisions, give in tax‑efficient ways, and prepare the next generation to manage their resources with confidence.Her insights have been featured in the Globe and Mail and the National Post’s Guide to Charitable Giving. Serena holds the CIM® (Chartered Investment Manager) designation and the Advanced Philanthropy Designation (MFA‑P), and she was recently named one of the WXN Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada.Serena’s presentations focus on practical strategies that help families take full advantage of the over 20 tax incentives available for charitable giving, redirecting their social capital, also known as taxes, to the causes that are most meaningful to them. Her work has helped add back more than $300 million to the charitable sector, strengthening the impact families can make across Canada.She serves on numerous boards and committees, including SickKids Foundation and the National Ballet of Canada, and is Chair of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners. Serena resides in the Riverside neighbourhood of Toronto and spends her weekends with her niece, Stella, and her too‑smart‑for‑his‑own‑good beagle, Bogart.
