Catherine Grenier, President and CEO
Catherine Grenier joined the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) as its president and CEO on September 28, 2020.An award-winning leader, Grenier has held executive positions with some of Canada’s foremost nature conservation organizations. Prior to joining NCC, Grenier served as vice president for national parks operations with Sépaq. She was responsible for the management and development of 27 Quebec parks and resorts. Grenier mobilized the Sépaq team to generate an increase of more than 40 per cent in visits to the province’s parks network.Prior to joining Sépaq, Grenier held senior roles with Parks Canada. Among her achievements there, she led the process to create Canada’s first national urban park, in Toronto’s Rouge Valley.
Tom Lynch-Staunton, Regional Vice President, Alberta Region
Tom Lynch-Staunton s’est joint à CNC en septembre 2020 en tant que vice-président régional en Alberta. Larry Simpson, Conservation & Strategic Philanthropy Advisor, Alberta Region
Raised on a farm in southwest Alberta, Larry earned his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta in 1979 before beginning his career in the oil and gas sector. He joined the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) in 1990 as Western Regional Director, helping expand conservation impact nationwide. Passionate about prairie landscapes, Larry has dedicated his career to working with landowners and donors to conserve water, wildlife and working lands. During his tenure, Larry collaborated with federal and provincial governments to develop tax incentives and conservation easement legislation, giving landowners a tool to protect ecologically important lands and conserve working landscapes while maintaining ownership across settled regions of Canada. His contributions to conservation have been widely recognized, including the King Charles III Coronation Medal in June 2025 for his significant impact on environmental protection in Canada. He continues to mentor NCC staff and guide donors in leaving a lasting conservation legacy.
Megan Jensen, Stewardship Manager, Alberta region
Megan is the Grassland Stewardship Manager with the Nature Conservancy of Canada in Alberta. She works closely with ranchers, communities, and partners to support conservation across Alberta’s native grasslands.With over a decade of experience in conservation, Megan is passionate about building strong, respectful partnerships that benefit conservation and the people who depend on the land. Her work focuses on collaboration, stewardship, and finding practical ways to strengthen working landscapes for the long term.Megan believes lasting conservation is rooted in trust, collaboration, and commitment, and that healthy grasslands are enhanced when conservation and community come together.
Richard Klafki, Program Director, Canadian Rocky Mountains
Richard joined the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) in 2014 for the Canadian Rocky Mountains Program, overseeing securement and management of NCC conservation areas in the region. Recent work includes supporting partners to achieve large-scale conservation outcomes creating resilient landscapes in BC for people and nature to thrive. He oversees a stewardship team that carries out ecological inventories, covenant monitoring, landowner outreach, and ecosystem restoration, including open forest and wetland restoration projects.
