Alfred-Kelly Nature Reserve
Nestled within the Piedmont and Prévost escarpments of the Laurentians lies the Alfred-Kelly Nature Reserve — a remarkable landscape of mature forests, wetlands and towering cliffs that provide vital nesting habitat for birds of prey. Since 2012, we have been protecting this special place and the wildlife that depends on it. Together, we can ensure it remains protected for generations to come.

Boreal forests
Across northern Ontario, we’re protecting vast boreal forest and peatlands that are vital to our planet’s health. These powerful ecosystems store vast amounts of carbon, filter our drinking water and provide habitat for wildlife, while strengthening northern communities. Together, we can protect this remarkable landscape forever.

Bunchgrass Hills Conservation Area
South of Kamloops, Bunchgrass Hills protects one of BC’s rarest ecosystems. Grasslands make up only 1% of the province, yet they support more than 30% of its species at risk. Bunchgrass Hills anchors our work in the area, where we have conserved a network of more than 10,000 hectares of this vanishing prairie. Together, we can protect and connect more of this endangered ecosystem for the wildlife and people that depend on it.
BC British Columbia
Central Newfoundland
In Central Newfoundland, boreal forests, freshwater shorelines and wetlands provide homes for wildlife, support communities and hold deep cultural importance. Yet less than 3% of the region is protected. Together, we’re protecting these connected landscapes and the wildlife and people that depend on them.

Frontenac Arch
Just north of Kingston lies one of eastern North America’s most vital wildlife corridors. The Frontenac Arch is a UNESCO-designated biosphere where five forest regions meet on ancient bedrock, creating a landscape rich in nature and culture. Together, we can protect this remarkable place and the wildlife and communities that depend on it.

Green Mountains Nature Reserve
In southern Quebec’s Appalachians, the Green Mountains Nature Reserve protects one of the last large intact natural areas remaining in the region. This picturesque landscape provides a vital connection for wildlife across the mountain range and toward the Canada–U.S. border. Since 2013, we have been protecting this special place. Together, we can ensure it remains a thriving part of the Appalachian landscape for generations to come.

Kenauk
Kenauk’s breathtaking forests, wetlands and rare wildlife make it one of Quebec’s most ecologically significant landscapes. Since 2013, NCC and the Kenauk Institute have been working in partnership to protect this extraordinary 26,000-hectare landscape in the province’s Outaouais region. Together, we can ensure this irreplaceable landscape receives the permanent protection it deserves.

Kootenay Forest Lands
In BC’s East Kootenay, near the Alberta and Montana borders, the Kootenay Forest Lands show what’s possible when we come together to protect nature. Spanning 45,000 hectares, this remarkable landscape sustains wildlife, connects people to nature and provides lasting benefits for local communities. By conserving these lands, we can safeguard their natural and cultural benefits for generations to come.

Wabano Aki
Along the Assiniboine River in southwestern Manitoba, Wabano Aki (meaning Tomorrow’s Land in Anishinaabe) shows what’s possible when communities come together to care for the land. Here, nature thrives alongside agriculture and cultural traditions. Together, we’re caring for this remarkable landscape, honouring its cultural connections and creating a lasting legacy for future generations.
